Made in Germany 
Our fine Christmas cookies leave our bakery in the Nuremberg metropolitan region every week freshly baked and wrapped up in compostable organic foil. Their ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible - partly from long-standing, solid trading relationships with local farmers.

Vegan organic ingredients 
The taste of our vegan Elisenlebkuchen is almost indistinguishable from the traditional recipe. Fine organic marzipan, plenty of hazelnuts and a mixture of organic spices are of course a must in vegan Lebkuchen. Only honey and egg whites are replaced by organic sugar beet and soy. But don't just listen to us – try it for yourself.

Our organic Elisenlebkuchen are full of good hazelnuts and almonds, but do not contain the classic honey and egg whites – so they are 100% vegan.

Our tin is made of paper and reusable. The foil that keeps our Lebkuchen fresh and juicy is made from cellulose and corn starch and compostable

Q&A

Our Lebkuchen will be soft and juicy for at least 4 months from the time of production, which is the “best before” date printed on the tin/foil. However, we have tasted the Lebkuchen, kept unopened in the foil, and found they were still soft and delicious long after this date! You'll also find some tips on how to get hard Lebkuchen soft again in our Journal.

When there is no other delivery period is indicated, an order within Germany will be delivered within 4 to 5 business days after conclusion of contract (for advance payment: after receipt of payment).

Please note that no packages will be delivered on Sundays and public holidays, and deliveries to other countries can take significantly longer. We would advise placing international orders well in advance.

Yes, all of our Lebkuchen are vegan. Unlike conventional Elisenlebkuchen, we do not use eggs or honey for our vegan Lebkuchen.

Each baker has their own, top secret recipe and spice mix… But original “Elisen-Lebkuchen” must contain at least 25% almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts, they cannot contain any other oil seeds and no more than 10% flour or 7.5% starch by definition. In our shop you will only find original Elisenlebkuchen.
